Teaching students with learning disabilities needs more experience.

Teaching within itself is a privilege, so saying I teach students with learning disabilities, that’s an even bigger privilege. My job as a teacher may seem “harder” than regular teachers, but we all struggle the same struggles. Even though, my patience and determined have lead me to love this job even more. There are times I wouldn’t call it a job, to me it’s a joy that brings me utmost happiness while also draining me at the same time, but the children make it all worth the while. Watching the children progress is the most heartwarming feeling ever. So coming to class everyday and seeing their smiles wanting to learn is a reward in within itself.

Non-scholastic exercises

Students tend to enjoy and have lots of fun throughout non-scholastic exercises. They learn new things, ideas, and thoughts. They engage in daily  life routines.
There are many examples of these non-scholastic exercises. they may be sent on field trips to explore new places such as going on hiking or taking a walk in the woods or beside the lake. In such places, students can learn new stuff related to the new habitat and get to know scientifical, geographical, and historical information.
The school may send students to watch a movie or a play or an interview. Students may learn new ideas about these experiences. They may write lots of essays related to that experience.
Students may engage in these activities and they may have new experiences that can be imprinted into their beliefs and customs.

Teaching students with learning disabilities

Teaching students with learning disabilities will open your eyes to a whole new world of teaching. University doesn’t prepare you for what you’re about to experience when you are their teacher. It’s a challenge that needs a lot of patience and time. Students won’t learn overnight, they will need you to repeat the word 101 times before they can finally recognize it, and your work is just getting started still, till this day, we remind students of the different letters and what they sound like and how to blend those sounds together. But all the repetition is worth it when they are able to say a word phonetically correct that’s what makes me being a teacher the best job ever.

Reflection of the webinar

The webinar I watched talked about the importance of equipping educators with violent defending techniques. This webinar was made after many violent actions happened in the USA, where some students shot thousands of their friends and teacher which led to a series of other violent actions resulting on a mass number of injured and dead people. This webinar showed that we should (as educators) be qualified or on other words equipped to find out who is holding a gun for example who is trying to make violent action how to protect the students, and how to make them aware of the things happening so they can stay away and avoid being in dangerous place.
I don’t find this webinar really useful because such things don’t really happen here, but it’s good to stay in touch and aware of whatever is happening around us. The webinar was recorded and side chats were not about what is being explained in the webinar.

The Importance of Education

Nelson Mandela says: “Education is the most powerful weapon we can use to change the world”. Although education is a part of life but it is very important for success in life and for the personal, social, and economic development of the nation. Thus nobody can live without education because it empowers minds that will be able to conceive good thoughts and ideas. Nowadays, education has become a need in modern life.

Classroom Management

Classroom management is one of the most important element in teaching. It doesn't matter how much a teacher is well prepared and how many activities is done if the students in class are not well seated and ready to learn. When the teacher provides a convinient environmet for  her students and works on making them follow and apply classroom rules, whatever lesson she prepares will be easy to deliver. Also time management is a part of classroom management. Whenever each task is given specific time, the procedure will flow smoothly. Classroom management is mastered by prectice, experience and how well the teacher has built a strong bond with her students.

Arts and Education

One of the most effective ways of teaching is when arts and education are integrated. Teachers simply can convert any selection into an art class by asking students to invent something, make posters with some decorations, write cards or apply any applicable information. They might also use arts in order to discover things like how to come up with a color or learning the names used in the art field. In addition, arts can add the fun part to the learning session and students whose learning style is kinesthetic, will find the lesson an interesting one.
